Have the Republicans All Gone McCain?

The upcoming ObamaCare Summit should be dead in the water, but while the Republicans all squawked loudly about the meet, they are quietly making plans to attend. Is it because they want to be on TV? Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. said he would work with the White House “to maximize the effectiveness of the meeting.” Wasn’t ObamaCare an awful Socialist plot? Why would Republicans even be making a show? I smell another Amnesty-moment. The inexplicable moment where the Republicans hold oppressive laws by the throat, and then suddenly are sharing their chocolate with it. This petulant power-reversal is highlighting the complete lack of difference between parties. It’s almost like the Republicans just wanted to prove they COULD kill the bill, and once the Democrats tapped uncle, they are going to change the color of the folder and pass the thing anyway. Republicans plus Democrats really DOES equal SuperFed.

Obama Is Flopping Like a Fish On the Desert Sand

For the last two years Obama has been sqawking about  bonuses for bank executives, calling them “fat-cat bankers”, “irresponsible” and by showing his “outrage.” Yesterday in an interview with Bloomberg, Obama justified the bonuses bankers/Wall Street are taking home this year saying “I, like most of the American people, don’t begrudge people success or wealth. That is part of the free-market system.”

What changed Obama’s position?  Perhaps Michelle’s “Let’s Move” campaign has thinned the bankers a bit and Obama doesn’t hate them anymore – they’ve lost weight.  If losing weight is what it takes to get Obama’s blessing then it’s time to go to McDonald’s and order the apple fries and a fruit/yogurt parfait.  The message is out: Weight loss prevents socialist take-overs.  Lose weight, KEEP money. Maybe this is just a clever marketing ploy to buoy Michelle’s initiatives?

It Is What It Is

Political correctness is an insidious weakening agent – it makes you afraid to think, it makes you doubt yourself. Making a country too afraid to take a stand or to trust their instincts is like poisoning their water before a military assault. After Old England we follow…
