But does the presence of genuine loons erase THESE RECENT STATEMENTS BY OUR DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY?!:

Anti-immigration: “Rightwing extremist groups’ frustration over a perceived lack of government action on illegal immigration has the potential to incite individuals or small groups toward violence. If such violence were to occur, it likely would be isolated, small-scale, and directed at specific immigration-related targets.”

Recruiting returning vets: “Rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to exploit their skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat.”

Gun-related violence: “Heightened interest in legislation for tighter firearms…may be invigorating rightwing extremist activity, specifically the white supremacist and militia movements.”

Could there be genuine freaks with guns and Bibles who hate Jews plotting to fight our police and our government? Certainly, see Norman above. But combine DHS newest ‘take-downs’ with Barack’s famous lines about Pennsylvanians:

The above events, taken in pieces, are relatively benign. Zoom out to see the big picture, and we see a concerted movement by our left-wing government to a) demonize Christians, b) demonize patriots and veterans, c) blame EVERYONE who disagrees with the Dems as anti-Semitics (which is odd, cause the right-wingers have consistently been Israel-backers while the left takes every opportunity to blast them) and d) to villify ALL speech against the current administration. (See the Tea Partiers.) How many readers would love to see the day where the ATF and DHS expends at least a TENTH as much energy arresting and posturing against KNOWN MUSLIM terrorists?

So the above ‘militias’ may have been genuine nuts – that notwithstanding, let’s watch the vigor of the media as they attempt to paint ALL opposition to our RADICAL government as Bible-toting, gun-wielding crazies. Martial Law anyone?  Surely no one thinks that is on the horizon except for more nuts. Right?

One doesn’t need logic to understand “slippery slope” – all that is needed is any landslide scene in a RoadRunner cartoon. Sadly this bill overtly leeches so much power, it expands to more than a “slippery slope” and encompasses hitting the bottom in a broken heap. It’s the entire experience of “slippery slope” with the added bonus of end-game: disaster.

“The United States Congress finally declared that America’s workers and America’s families and small businesses deserve the security of knowing that here in this country neither illness nor accident should endanger the dreams they worked a lifetime to achieve,” Obama said. There is something fundamentally insidious about that sentence. Like “Here is the gun I am going to shoot you with.”

With ObamaCare we get more government red-tape, LESS bang for our buck, and rationed care. What’s next? We acknowledge and move on accordingly. The next few days may be full of show and clamor, but ‘change’ has been a long time comin’. Overtly with Obama’s election, and covertly with Dr. Spock. (Aw come one. Admit it. Tinfoil-hat jokes aside, you always knew there was something wrong with the entire Dr. Spock schtick. Right?) And next comes November 2010. (Okay, who am I fooling? We are doomed.)

Senator Bunning pulled a 4-day pseudo-filibuster blocking the Dems temporary extension of unemployment benefits – the specific, strategic reason escapes me, as I’m merely a Lilliputian observer, but it appears as if he was trying to highlight the Dem’s hypocrisy regarding their new PAYGO rhetoric. Bunning is not running for re-election next term and he’s having fun. It’s like the employee at Taco Bell who has put in his two-week notice: he tells that rude blonde where to stick it and spits in the lettuce vat. Short-timer’s syndrome can be humorous, as long as we aren’t the ones eating spitty lettuce. Political shenanigans. Meanwhile, the left is having a blast getting as wound up as possible spinning this into “REPUBS HATE UNEMPLOYED.”

The Countdown guy acts like a stand-in from a 1970’s disaster movie. Bunning refuses to accept unemployment benefit extensions and the Countdown guy acts like Bunning is taking food from his family’s mouth. On the flip side, either Bunning is really awesome and taking one for the team because unemployment is a manufactured evil and someone has to stand up and staunch the bleeding by solving the problem WITHOUT more handouts, or he’s awesomely evil and wants everybody to STFU and leave him alone and wants to ride his final term out with juleps and verandas while making certain that the peasants don’t spoil the view. Either way, it’s difficult to watch ESPECIALLY as covered by Countdown. And how creepy is Countdown? Mr. Countdown guy looks like he is from a Small Business Sexual Harassment Training Video made in New Zealand in 1985.
