    Ah, the good old days, when a scriptwriter could make fun of Democrats in the movies and still find work afterward. These days that writer would have been subjected to industry-wide prejudice and scorn that’s hardly different from McCarthyism. Of course, today’s discriminatory scorn is different. It is quite a bit scarier when your government is gunning for you than when your peers are gunning for you. But oh how much better and more original today&#039;s Hollywood movies would be if it weren’t a one-party town…
